Faculty Position in Developmental Biology

School of Molecular & Cellular Biology

The School of Molecular and Cellular Biology <http://mcb.illinois.edu/> at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the general area of Developmental Biology. A Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience are required.  The target starting date for this position is August 16, 2010.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.  This position offers excellent laboratory facilities, substantial start-up funds, and the opportunity to work with outstanding graduate and undergraduate students. 

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has added significant faculty strength in the biological sciences over the last several years; we seek to expand the community of scientists studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying developmental phenomena, from embryogenesis to adult tissue regeneration.  The Urbana-Champaign campus offers a wide range of state-of-the-art research support facilities, including the Roy J. Carver Biotechnology Center, the W. M. Keck Center for Comparative and Functional Genomics, as well as facilities for proteomics, metabolomics, immunology, flow cytometry, microscopy, and transgenic mice.  Superb resources for computational biology are available at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and the NIH Resource for Macromolecular Modeling and Bioinformatics.
