Postdoctoral Researcher

Department of Microbiology

Postdoctoral position available to work on the mechanism of quorum sensing in Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The successful candidate will pursue one or more of the following problems:

  • The structure of TraR and how interaction with the acyl-homoserine lactone ligand causes activation of this transcription factor
  • Role of TraR-membrane associations in the biology of quorum sensing
  • Molecular aspects of the interaction between TraR and the antiactivator TraM
  • Interaction between TraR and components of RNA polymerase

Requirements
Ph.D. in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related area. Research experience in microbial genetics, microbial molecular biology, and protein biochemistry.
