EPR Service Facility
The Illinois Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Research Center (IERC) is a service facility supported by user fees and by the School of Molecular and Cellular Biology.
Many kinds of instrumentation and expertise are available including state-of-the art special-purpose facilities.
Hours and location
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Medical Sciences Building, basement rooms 67, 14D, and 63.
Services
The EPR Research Center offers two levels of service.
Assisted
- Have the staff run and interpret your data
- $24/hr
Spectral analysis/simulation is $15/hr.
Self-serve
- $12/hr
- Requires training
Updated rules for use and sign up of the X-band EPR:
- All users must have a signed authorization form with a valid account number on file.
- Users running the instrument themselves must have had training and approval before using.
- All users are responsible for supplies such as liquid helium and EPR tubes.
- No food in the instrument rooms.
- Safety glasses must be worn when handling samples at cryogenic temperatures.
- No open-toe shoes.
- If you will not use the instrument after signing up, please cancel as soon as possible. Persons who do not cancel by 9:00 a.m. the day that they run or do not show up will be charged a $25 fee.
