There is a touchpad control in the speaker's podium, and there is one in the projection room on the window shelf. These are used to select and control the various video and audio equipment.
LCD VIDEO PROJECTOR
The video projector is used to present images from the computers and document camera. It automatically converts different computer resolutions for display. It is turned on and off with the touchpanel controller's main menu. Once this projector is turned off, it cannot be turned on again for about one minute in order to allow its high intensity lamp to cool.
The switch for the room lights is located by the projection room door. The lights may be dimmed with the touchpad controller.
The wireless mic is in a black pouch in the drawer of the rack located in the projection room.
The projection screen is 10 feet wide and is located center stage. It is motorized and can retract into the ceiling.
In the computer cabinet at the front of the auditorium are two desktop computers. One is a Mac Pro and the other a Windows computer. They both have USB ports available for memory devices. They have network connectivity. Both feature PowerPoint, Word, Excel, web browsers, QuickTime, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. A keyboard and a mouse are on a sliding tray in the computer cabinet. A switcher is located in the bottom of the cabinet to the right of the computers. The switcher has pushbuttons for selecting and scaling the computer signal you want to use.
If your presentation is already on your laptop, just bring it in. There are video and audio cables (on the podium) to connect Mac and PC laptop computers. Place your laptop on the podium and connect the video cable, along with the audio cable if applicable. You will need to select your laptop with the switcher (large podium, lower right) to view the video on the projection screen. A power outlet cable is also available on the black cart beside the podium for powering your laptop, if necessary.
ELMO OVERHEAD PROJECTOR
The Elmo overhead/document camera is in the drawer of the computer cabinet at the front of the room. An LCD monitor is provided to help you position your material.
SOUND IN THE PROJECTION ROOM
There is a volume control for the projection room speaker. It is located on the patch panel in the rack in the projection room and is labelled "Room Audio Level". Be sure to turn this down if the wireless mic is to be used in the projection room.
There are several laser pointers available. They kept in the drawer of the rack in the projection room. CAUTION: Do NOT shine the laser pointer into anyone's eyes!
