Meet Amelia (Ji Ji) Steinlein (she/her)

Hi everyone! My name is Amelia but most of my friends and family know me as Ji Ji! I am a senior majoring in MCB Honors and minoring in psychology. On campus, I am involved in undergraduate research through Dr. Rachel Whitaker's microbiology lab where I work with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in both a bench and bioinformatic approach. I am also an active member in Beta Psi Omega, a professional biology fraternity, and Alpha Phi Omega, a service fraternity. This past spring semester, I studied abroad in Stockholm, Sweden through an MCB abroad program and was able to receive advanced MCB credit towards my degree; I took a masters level stem cell and developmental biology course and participated in a research traineeship. While I was abroad, I was able to meet people from all across the world and travel a bit of Europe! In my free time, I love to spend time with friends, cook, watch Netflix/Disney+, and explore new cities. I consider myself a friendly and easy going person so feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about classes, undergraduate research, studying abroad, and more! I know transitioning to college can be a difficult but exciting time. I am happy to help :)
