Meet Vani Sharma (she/her)

Hi Everyone! My name is Vani Sharma. I am a sophomore majoring in the MCB Honors Concentration and minoring in Public Health on the pre-med track. On campus, I am the President & Co-Founder of Positive PreMeds, an Undergraduate Research Ambassador, a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Preprofessional Medical Fraternity, Outreach Chair for the Foundation for International Medical Relief, Graphics/PR Chair for MannMukti, a member of the American Medical Women's Association, and an LAS Honors Peer Mentor. Additionally, I have worked as a personal care assistant with Beckwith Residential Support Services and as a medical assistant. As for research, I've served as an undergraduate research assistant with the Feinberg School of Medicine and am currently in the Disability, Participation, & Quality of Life Research Laboratory. This semester I am looking forward to being a teaching assistant for Chemistry 103. As for volunteering, I have volunteered in the pharmacy and orthopedics department as well as tutored students. In my free time, I play viola, work out, go on long drives, hang out with friends, and try new coffee shops! Some fun facts about me are that I am vegetarian, can speak 4 languages, and have a half beagle & half german shepherd dog! I know how difficult it can be to navigate at such a large school as well as pursue a pre-health pathway. I wouldn't have been able to find my community and thrive without the support system at this school and all my well-wishers on the way. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about MCB, extracurriculars, pre-health, college transition, research, or anything about college in general!
