DR. AARON GODWINI began my undergraduate experience as a pre-med at the University of Central Florida but soon realized this was not the right path for me. I ended up completing my degree in biological sciences, with a focus on marine invasive species. After graduation, I decided to pursue my aspirations of being a professional classical singer. I came to the University of Illinois to study opera and musical theatre, but instead I discovered my lifelong passion for teaching and advising. While at Illinois, I spent four years as an instructor of CMN 101, Intro to Public Speaking, where I worked with LAS students from a variety of disciplines. I completed my dissertation for a DMA, studying queer elements of Broadway musicals of the 1970s in Spring 2019 and am currently working on a Masters in Social Work. As a someone who changed my major and career path multiple times, I feel I would be a great resource for students who may be considering changing their own goals. Please reach out to me if you'd like to talk more.
