Course Restrictions and Wait Lists for Fall 2021

MCB 101 is restricted and enrollment is managed solely by the wait list, https://go.illinois.edu/mcb101_FA21_waitlist.  Restrictions will be removed on May 6.

MCB 150: some seats are being held back for incoming biology and biochemistry freshmen. Any remaining seats will be opened to the general population on Friday, August 20, 2021.

MCB 199 51 A-F and 53 A-F are restricted to MCB and BIOC students who took MCB 251 or MCB 253 online due to the pandemic. If you qualify and are interested in taking one or both of these courses, please complete the online form at: https://go.illinois.edu/mcbtechniquescourse. You will be emailed once you have been authorized to register for the course.

MCB 199 TTS is restricted to declared MCB and BIOC students working in a research lab. Interested students should email tmknox@illinois.edu with their name, major, UIN and name of research PI for authorization.

MCB 245 is restricted and enrollment is managed solely by the wait list, https://go.illinois.edu/mcb245_FA21_waitlist.  Restrictions will be removed on May 6.


The following lab courses will be restricted to declared MCB and BIOC seniors and juniors until the morning of May 3:
  • MCB 301
  • MCB 364, if course fills use wait list below
  • MCB 428
  • MCB 493 APL, if course fills use wait list below
  • MCB 354 – registration is restricted to MCB and BIOC seniors, juniors, and sophomores at all times. Students with appropriate prerequisites can request authorization from Alejandra Stenger via the online form at http://go.illinois.edu/MCB354FA21_AuthorizationRequest
