The School of Molecular & Cellular Biology honored undergraduate and graduate students at its annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 4, at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center.
School and department leaders recognized students for academic achievements, research achievements, outstanding performances as teaching assistants, and more. They also announced the awardees for the 2023 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships, funded by dedicated alumni as well as the School of MCB.
"I see an inspiring group of leaders who came to MCB from throughout Illinois and around the world," enthused Milan Bagchi, Deborah Paul Endowed Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology and Director of the School of Molecular & Cellular Biology. "I see creative and resilient biologists who will do great things. You will drive breakthroughs in biomedical research. You will shape advances in healthcare. Perhaps some of you will teach the next generation of students."
Students, faculty, staff, and family members celebrated with a reception following the ceremony.
