Kevin Neumann

I was born and raised in San Francisco, moved to Los Angeles for undergrad, and have spent the past six years in Champaign-Urbana. I recently completed my PhD here at UIUC where I studied the impacts of ecological variation on collective behavior in animals. I also worked with students and in the community through teaching courses, working at the Writers Workshop, and helping plan science outreach events in collaboration with the Institute for Genomic Biology. These experiences motivated me to pursue academic advising. Outside of work, I love playing basketball, hiking, drawing, walking my dogs, and going to hip-hop and indie concerts.
