The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign each year presents Campus Awards for Excellence in Instruction to exceptional faculty and staff members, graduate teaching assistants and advisors campuswide.

We are pleased to announce that Cell and Developmental Biology professor Stephanie Ceman is among those being honored this year.

Dr. Ceman uses a team-based learning methodology in which students complete assigned tasks in preparation for each class. She prepares stimulating, challenging and diligently crafted questions that not only help the students understand the material, but also stimulate their thought-processes and ability to work as a team.

Awardees are cited for sustained excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate teaching, undergraduate and graduate advising and mentoring, online teaching and research guidance. The Office of the Provost sponsors the awards. This year’s recipients are being celebrated at a ceremony on April 15.

Dr. Ceman was also recently selected with the College of Liberal Art & Sciences Dean’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

Congratulations, Dr. Ceman on these well-deserved awards!
