Hello! My name is Ramiya Shanmugam and I am a senior majoring in MCB with a minor in Public Health and Chemistry. Currently, I am on the pre-med track hoping to apply to medical schools soon. On campus, I am the president of a dance team, Illini Bhangra, and took part in a Professional Fraternity, AED. I also work in the Office of Minority Student Affairs as a tutor as well as volunteer as a tutor for Dr. Axelson in Organic Chemistry. As for research, I am a part of PNC research lab which studies the relationship between aspects of kinesiology and cognitive functions. Lastly, I volunteer at a free health care clinic, where we help serve underinsured and uninsured patients.
