We’re proud to share the news that many School of Molecular & Cellular Biology students, faculty, and staff members have received College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Impact Awards. The awards, announced this week, recognize inspiring efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. So many in our community went beyond expectations to make a difference.

Among the winners are MCB students who have volunteered at vaccine clinics, professors who have given their time to students inside and outside of the classroom, staff members providing emergency tech support, teams of faculty, staff, and students producing viral transport media needed for coronavirus tests, and so much more.

“Someday we’ll all be asked, 'How did you make it through the COVID-19 pandemic?’ The recipients of the LAS Impact award show us how: through countless acts of compassion, adaptability, and resilience,” said Gene Robinson, interim dean of the College of LAS and Swanlund Chair in Entomology, in his announcement about the awards.
