Hello everyone! My name is Joseph and I am a junior majoring in MCB Honors with a minor in chemistry. I am an out-of-state student from the Bay Area in California. On campus, I am involved involved in undergraduate research in Dr. Hee Jung Chung's lab, studying the STEP protein and its role in regulating excitatory transmission in the brain during epilepsy. Over the summer, I was able to research extensively through the SURF program from the SMCB. Aside from research, I am also a volunteer at Carle Foundation Hospital in the Emergency Department, and am involved in Carle RSO.
