Meet Sofia Faillaci

Hi everyone! My name is Sofia Faillaci and I am a senior majoring in MCB honors with a minor in psychology. My future career goals are to become an orthopedic surgeon with a specialization in pediatrics, but I am looking forward to learning and immersing myself into all the careers the medical field provides. On campus, I am a part of the American Medical Student Association, Best Buddies, as well as Greek Life. I have spent a lot of time working with teenagers and adults that suffer from physical and intellectual disabilities, and it truly is one of my passions. Back home, I have spent my time volunteering at a local hospital and have also spent a summer working at AbbVie, where I examined how hypoxic conditions affected cell growth and proliferation on lung epithelial cancer cells, which served to be an absolutely amazing experience, where I could apply my extensive MCB knowledge in a professional setting. In my free time, I love to read, paint, listen to music, cook, and travel. I even spent the past semester studying abroad in Italy with one of the MCB programs, so I'd love to talk more about that with anyone who is interested! A fun fact about me is that I've traveled to twelve countries and speak three languages and I'd love to learn a few more!
